The mission of the Alachua County Library District Foundation
is to provide supplemental funding to the library with an
emphasis on long-term support and planned giving.

The Alachua County Library District Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization with the mission of providing supplemental funding to the Library with an emphasis on long-term support and planned giving.  Its Endowment constitutes a vital legacy for carrying out its mission well into the future.  The Foundation is on the cusp of achieving its long-held goal of a million dollar Endowment.

The Board of Directors believe that now is the time to finish the task and put the Endowment firmly "over the top" of the million dollar mark.  Hence, the Foundation is embarking upon a 2013-2014  "INSURING THE LEGACY" FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN to raise $100,000.  A successful campaign will insure the Foundation's ability to help fund special projects for the Alachua County Library District well into the future.

The Foundation is providing supplemental funding in 2013 to the ACLD from its Endowment income and other funds for three projects: a Snuggle Up Center in the children's area of the downtown Headquarters Library; a Snuggle Up Center for the new Cone Park Branch Library facility; and a dedicated Teen Space for the new Cone Park Branch Library facility.  Last year it funded the Teen Space at the Headquarters Library.

Two recent projects: Teen Space at Headquarters (left),
and Snuggle Up Center at Millhopper (right)

We invite you to join with the Board of Directors to help us reach our fundraising goal.  There is a downloadable contribution form available from the link at the left.  You will note particular reference to Katherine's Tree.  This ten-foot high etched-glass rendition of the Tree of Knowledge located at the Headquarters Library embodies a tradition of giving and sharing.

Each leaf on the Tree represents an Endowment gift of $2,000 or more.  Placing a leaf on the Tree offers donors a lasting way to honor an individual, a family, an organization, or a business.  A leaf can be a memorial gift or one to commemorate a loved one or special occasions such as births, anniversaries, weddings, graduations, or other similar events.
